Event #17: $1,500 + $150 WPTDeepStacks

Martin Gaudreault-Rémillard is the WPTDeepStacks Champion!

With the chip stacks to start heads-up play and the blind level they were playing, it was possible, even probable, that the 2-way match would end up taking a significant period of time. However, these players had something else in mind. Before the end of the first level of heads-up play, there was an all-in and a call - and a player at risk. Julio Cacoilo opened the action preflop with a raise to 400K and Martin Gaudreault-Remillard made the call. Flop: Jack of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds 9 of Hearts The action went [More...]

Event #21: $1,000 + $100 Card Player Poker Tour

Danny Ibrahim is the Card Player Poker Tour Champion!

It was a grueling day of poker full of action and packed with seasoned poker professionals. We started the day with 64 competitors, with only 40 slated to be paid. As the group made its way towards the final table we lost a lot of big names. That said, once the final table was formed the field was still very strong. After four hours of intense play the final four players decided upon an ICM chop. That helped speed the tournament along, but it still took another 90 minutes to crown our [More...]

Event #8: $200 + $20 Grand Prix Canada

Samuel Miranda is the Grand Prix Canada Champion

The heads up battle had been epic, and stacks were roughly even for a long stretch of time - but eventually, and slowly, Samuel began to expand - and maintain - his lead. When blinds reached 4M/8M in level 53, however, a 100M stack was no longer much to rely on. Breyer Calvert - who had played an amazing tournament all day today - started to feel the blinds pressure and shoved 4 out of 6 hands in a row - seemingly willing to bring the matter to a conclusion. Samuel, for his part, was [More...]

Event #11: $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night

The Strangers in the Night champion is …

[Note: two players were mis-identified at the table, so wrong name was used to identify the champion of this event. We apologize for the error.] After outlasting all 583 opponents, Jamie Baker was crowned the champion of the $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night event. Congratulations to him on a very nice night of poker! It was an extremely rapid Day 3 from the get go, seeing six of the twenty starting players eliminated in mere minutes. It took only two hours to reach the final table of [More...]
