Thomas Lefort has doubled through Garrett Dansereau to move to over 280K in chips and leaving Garrett Dansereau running on fumes – Dansereau was eliminated just a few hands later by Tam Ho.
We arrived at the table for Thomas’ double through Garrett on the river, with Thomas all in and Garrett in the tank. Eventually Garrett made the call, only to find he was soundly beaten by Thomas’ trip 8s in the hand.
Garrett got it in on the following hand holding – behind the of his opponent – but the board ran out with a Queen-high straight and the players chopped. After a couple of folds, Garrett got his last 7K in from the hijack only to be met with a raise to 15K from Tam Ho and a call from Frederic Cossette. On the flop of , Frederic checked from early position and Tam bet 16K from the button. Frederic folded and the hands were turned over.
The dealer spread the rest of the board: and Dansereau was sent to the rail.
Since then, a few more other players have been eliminated including Jiachen Gong from the same table Thomas is playing at. It looks like Thomas got most if not all of those chips – he is now sitting on a stack just a little under 500K deep!
