The pace of play on this final table of the CPPT World Cup of Cards started very rapidly with an elimination in the first 3 or 4 hands, and it has continued just as quickly, if anything accelerating in speed to the point where we had 3 eliminations in 5 successive hands.
First to go (6th place) was Ha Van Nguyen who got it in with and faced the held by Tam Ho, who secured his third successive elimination on a board.
As Tam was stacking the chips, Tristan Bergeron got it in and found a re-shove from Stuart Taylor, which closed out the action and the cards were exposed.
Tristan needed to improve to stay in the tournament but couldn’t manage it on the board.
Just two hands later it was Jonathan Marrie’s turn, and he got it in good, shoving with over Luc Bellerive’s 225K raise of Tam’s 65K open. Tam folded but Luc called.
This time the board broke in the hand underdog’s favour: and Luc took the pot.
- 4th place: Jonathan Marrie, $24,210.00
- 5th place: Tristan Bergeron, $18,700.00
- 6th place: Ha Van Nguyen, $15,480.00
Play now continues three way.
