Part of the World Cup of Cards at Playground Poker Club, the Strangers in the Night Event has been going since Sunday afternoon, when the first Day 1 got underway. 5 starting flights and 1 action-packed Day 2 later, we are now down to 14 finalists, which will be fighting tonight for a $20,000 first prize and the Champion Trophy.
115 players made it to Day 2, coming from 5 feeder flights, and the night was full of twists. Heartbreaking losses were witnessed, and euphoric rises were observed. After 12 levels of grueling competition, the field was shrunk to just 14 Day 3 finalists.
Santos Ciulla (our current chip leader), Clifford Neiman, Thundup Ringpa, Alex Normandin and George Karoubalis are all millionaires coming into this final Day, but the structure moves to 45-minute levels tonight, and there is a lot of depth on the tables, so it is still anybody’s game.
The tournament director is announcing the traditional ”Shuffle up and deal!”, and play gets underway in a few seconds. Good luck to all finalists!
