Today is Day 1B in the partypoker LIVE Playground1000, a $1,000 + $100 NL Hold’em Re-entry event in the 2017 World Cup of Cards. Day 1A saw a healthy 160 total entries, but with the weekend now here, Days 1B and 1C should see an increase in the numbers as players try to win their way to Day 2 and a piece of the $1,000,000 prize pool guarantee! Players are permitted one entry and one re-entry per starting flight, and they may do so any time during play on a Day 1. Players may also enter (again or for the first time) on Day 2 until the end of level 12.
Play today will continue through 9 levels of 60 minutes each. Players start with 100,000 in tournament chips and the Playground1000 features a button ante, meaning that one player effectively pays the antes for everyone on the button. For simplicity’s sake, the button ante amount is the same as the big blind.
There will be 15 minute breaks after every second level today, plus a 45-minute long dinner break following level 6 during which players will enjoy a buffet set up right in the Tournament Hall, courtesy of the Rail Coal Fire Bistro.
Play gets under way in about half an hour – good luck to everyone today!
