Event #25 in the World Cup of Cards is a rarity in the Montreal area – a Fixed Limit Hold’em tournament. The explosion of poker in the Montreal area occurred in the No Limit era of the game, so a great proportion of the games spread – tourney and cash – are of this variant of the game. However there are still many players that also enjoy the Limit game – this is the tournament for them!
If you’re not sure how to play, it’s quite straight forward. The overall game play is identical to “regular” hold’em, the only difference being that there are limits to the sizes of bets and raises depending on the street. Knowing the limit is simple – for the first two rounds of betting in a particular hand, it’s the same as the big blind, and then following it’s twice that amount.
Action gets underway at 12:00pm, players will begin with 15K in chips and play will continue through 20 minute levels until it’s complete.
