Event 12 in the World Cup of Cards was a single-day PL Omaha Hi/Lo tournament priced at $300 + $30. The 55 players that turned up for the 4-card event generated a prize pool of $16,005 which was split into 6 payouts, including a top prize of $5,750.
Pierre Paul Paulin took over the lead midway through the night and managed to book a seat on the final table, but ultimately finished one spot shy of the money. In-the-money eliminations leading up to heads-up play included Michel Merletti (6th, $800), Izadyar Yadegari (5th, $1,180), Ivan Driard (4th, $1,775) and Jean-Philippe Piquette (3rd, $2,600).
Kinson Cho-Kin Cheung began heads-up play versus Randy Vermette with a 2-to-1 chip lead, however Randy chip his way up before finding a huge double-up to take over the lead. The money went all-in pre-flop, and Kinson’s
hand was scooped by Randy’s
on a
board. Randy now had an overwhelming 10-to-1 chip lead, and sealed the win on the very next hand.
Congratulations!
