When we joined the hand at table 23 there were just two players facing off against each other. In seat one (in the red hat) was a member of Team Vincenzo D’Elia, one of the top three teams when we measured stacks two levels ago. The other player was Mike White, from team Michel Leblanc.
Board:
Team Vincenzo was up first and led out with a pot sized bet of 20K. He was raised to 55K by Michel, and Vincenzo called quickly.
Turn:
Perhaps both sensing they might be moving too fast with their respective hole cards, they each cautiously checked the turn.
River:
Another 6 on the board didn’t change the odds for either player.
Now down to the last four tables, with neither wanting to be too aggressive and lose chips at this late stage, both players checked the river. They also both flipped over an AK, perhaps breathing small sighs of relief as well.
