The players are off on their second break of the afternoon, and the field is down to roughly a third of the total entries, as 64 players remain. The gap between the big and small stacks continued to widen over the last few levels; some players are sitting comfortably on stacks of more than double the current chip average while many others find themselves in dangerous territory with stacks of less than 15 big blinds.
Our current chip leader, Jean-Philippe Lehoux, took advantage of a sustained hot streak to go from being one of the have-nots following the first break to the biggest stack in the tournament by a healthy margin.
The money bubble is rapidly approaching, as 23 players will cash this afternoon’s event, and the pressure of the blinds is mounting so we are likely see some tighter play during the next few levels.
