Now in level 30, the blinds are getting higher and higher, currently at 100,000. The shorter stacks are starting to feel the pressure. Perhaps hoping to capitalize on this dynamic, Sebastien Fortier called Jamie Baker’s preflop shove, hoping his pocket pair would take down Grant’s cards. Sebastien flipped over sailboats, a 4 of Hearts 4 of Diamonds. Jamie, however, had 9 of Spades 9 of Diamonds.

Jamie made a set on the flop and eventually took down Fortier in the hand, doubling up above 1,000,000 at his expense on a 2 of Clubs 9 of Hearts King of Diamonds 7 of Diamonds 2 of Spades board.

Not one hand later, it was Antonio De La Cruz who shoved. This time it was Jamie’s turn to call.

Antonio’s Queen of Diamonds 10 of Diamonds faced off against Jamie’s suited Ace of Spades 8 of Spades. Jamie ended up flopping the nut flush, eliminating Antonio, who only managed two pair on a 7 of Spades 10 of Spades 6 of Spades 5 of Hearts Ace of Hearts board. Jamie’s stack has almost quadrupled in two hands, making this a whole new ballgame for him. Well done!

And congratulations to Antonio as well, finishing in 7th for $2,700.
