One of the tournaments tonight in the World Cup of Cards is Event #14, a $100 + $10 NL Short Deck Hold’em Re-entry tournament. Short Deck poker is taking the high stakes world by storm from it’s Macau origins, and the low-stakes tournament variety has been popular here at Playground for about a year already.
Short Deck poker – also known as Six-Plus – is a form of poker in which all of the cards from Deuces to Fives have been removed. This has a big effect on the game in every way. In terms of the rules, a wheel straight is possible (A-6-7-8-9), the Ace counts for high or low, and a flush is ranked higher than a full house.
There are 35 entries so far in this re-entry event – late entry and re-entry closes 10:15pm – and one player has already re-entered!
Good luck!
