Despite the end of the re-entry period in Event #15, the frenetic action shows no signs of slowing down.
A hand that just played out on table 37 illustrates the type of action we’ve been seeing tonight: With the blinds at 500/1K, an opening raise from under the gun to 2.5K picked up four callers before the action reached Ha Van Nguyen in the big blind. He put his stack at risk, hoping his 15.3K all in would be enough to steal some chips. But it ended building a massive pot!
Three players flat called the big raise, and they watched in anticipation as the flop fell . Nancy Asselin, the first to act, put out a bet of 20k and forced the others out of the pot. From there, Nguyen and Asselin chose which card they would discard and tabled the hands they would be playing. It was for Asselin against Nguyen’s . Although it can’t truly be said that the was ahead, Nguyen’s pocket pair was the best hand. The turn and river, the and , did not connect with Asselin’s hand, giving the big pot to Nguyen along with a new lease on his tournament life.
The action continues in level 9 with 57 players remaining.
