The players that qualified for the Day 2 restart in the WPTDeepStacks event have taken their seats and play is now underway!
After 3 Day 1 starting flights that attracted a total of 686 entries, there are just 126 players still alive in the tournament, and today they are scheduled to play a marathon day of poker that will take the event all the way to the final table.
The chip leader to start the day is Karim-Olivier Kamal, who amassed 468,000 chips on Day 1C, and he is joined by two other players – Robert Kostesky and Alex Fortin Demers who are also starting Day 2 with stacks greater than 100bb deep. On the other end of the spectrum, there are 15 players beginning today with 15bbb or fewer – these players will be under pressure immediately.
The top 86 players will be in the money in this event, so there will be a little bit of play before bubble pressure is brought to bear – but not that much! Blind levels are 40 minutes in length throughout the day and play will be 8-handed until 9 players remain – the final table will begin 9-handed on Day 3, tomorrow.
