Dubois-Daigle gets “rivered” again

Steven Dubois-Daigle arrived at the final table with a dominant chip lead, and all the way down to 4 players remaining has maintained a healthy lead… but no more. He has been beaten on the river when in the lead twice already, and this hand came along when he had just over 300K left in his stack.

Steven was on the button and raised to 65K, and when Fady Abazah in the sb raised all in, he instantly called.

Steven: Ace of Hearts King of Clubs
Fady: Ace of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds

The flop was fine for Steven: 6 of Diamonds 4 of Hearts Ace of Spades and then the King of Diamonds on the turn gave him two pairs, while Fady had only one draw left to make a flush… and then the dealer flashed Queen of Diamonds on the turn and Fady did in fact make his runner-runner flush.

The very next hand saw Steven make his exit from the tournament.

4th place: Steven Dubois-Daigle, $2,014
