When Jacob Parent was re-allocated to table 34, he moved right into the big blind.

Preflop, David Jiminez raised to 2,000, and both Jeffrey Kennedy, a professional 9-ball player who was regaling the table with snooker stories, and Jacob called.

When the flop came down 6 of Clubs 7 of Hearts 3 of Clubs, the threesome all tapped the felt.

When the dealer snapped over the turn card, 4 of Clubs, all three checked again.

The river card was a Jack of Clubs, and Jacob, David, and Jeffrey continued to show reluctance.

When Jacob revealed his hole cards, 9 of Clubs 4 of Spades, both David and Jeffrey mucked their hands. Jacob won the pot with a pair of fours, and his introductory hand at table 34 proved to be a fortuitous one.

The field at the WCC Event #26 has now been reduced to 128 players. That’s less than half number of 259 who registered for the tournament. The bubble for tonight’s event is 30, as the first 29 players are all guaranteed a payout.
