As we walked by table 37, there was a hand brewing. It appeared there were about 40,000 chips in the pot and the board was showing when Katsuhiro Muto bet 15,000.
The only other player in the hand, Sebastien Khoury, called the bet. Now there was about 70,000 in the middle, at which point the river was dealt a .
This time Katsuhiro checked. Sebastien, calmly checking his cards one final time, tossed in 15,000 chips and a bounty button, indicating that he was actually moving all in for his whole stack of 60,000 chips. Katsuhiro thought about it for a minute, and apparently Sebastien’s casual demeanor didn’t set off any alarm bells. Katsuhiro ultimately made the call.
Unfortunately for him, Sebastien flipped over a . He had flopped straight, and Katsuhiro slapped his forehead in anger, mucking his cards.
He wasn’t knocked out, but he had lost a healthy pot.
