My ears pricked up as soon as I approached table 59. Preflop, Nizar T asserted that he was raising all in. The player immediately to his left, Andreas K, called without hesitation. Naturally I couldn’t resist watching the action play out.

After everyone else at the table mucked their cards, Nizar and Andreas showed their hands. Nizar was holding pocket eights, 8 of Hearts 8 of Clubs. Andreas was also holding a pair, 4 of Spades 4 of Hearts.

The dealer dealt the community cards 6 of Diamonds 3 of Hearts 6 of Diamonds King of Clubs Jack of Clubs.

Nizar doubled up his stack and now possesses a tad more than 200,000 chips. That is 75,000 chips more than the stack average.

The hand-winner joked with me as I proceeded to take his photo. “You should have waited till I went to the bathroom to fix up my hair!”
