On table 24 just now we saw Nicholas Curtis, visiting from warm and sunny P.E.I., take out table mate Adam Hussen. Well, almost. He crippled him, taking all but a few of his chips. Nicholas was kind enough to let someone else finish him off the next hand.

Nicholas and Adam found themselves all in preflop, with Nicholas taking the plunge first on the button. Adam called, and when they flipped over their cards it was a classic 55/45 coin flip in Nicholas’ favor.

Nicholas: 8 of Diamonds 8 of Spades

Adam: Ace of Hearts Queen of Spades

The board was dealt 4 of Clubs 7 of Clubs 10 of Clubs 8 of Clubs 6 of Hearts, and because no one had even one club, Nicholas collected about 100,000 for his set of 8’s and added Adam’s chips to his pile.

The next hand Adam had to shove, and his luck continued on in a similar form. This time he ran up against a pair of aces. Unsurprisingly his 2-5 off-suit didn’t stand up. The board was no help and Adam’s night was over.
