On table 28 just now we heard those fateful words as we walked by: “All in.”

They were spoken by Haralambos Margaritis. However, taking a closer look it appeared that he wasn’t the first to say it that hand. The player immediately to his right, Christopher Nutt, had apparently shoved just seconds before we had come within earshot.

With a Jack of Diamonds 9 of Clubs 3 of Clubs already showing on the board, both players flipped over their cards.

Haralambos: Ace of Clubs Queen of Clubs

Christopher: King of Diamonds Jack of Clubs

Christopher was ahead, but Haralambos didn’t mind chasing a flush. Luckily for him, the board came down a 3 of Diamonds 2 of Clubs and his risky gamble paid off.

Will he “Survive” with that kind of bravado in the face of poker’s sometimes daunting probability? We shall see!
