Event #7, starting at 8:00pm tonight, is a $100 + $20 + $100 PL Omaha 50/50 Bounty Re-entry tournament – the first PLO action we’re hosting in the 2019 edition of the World Cup of Cards. The name of the event is complicated, so let’s parse it out:
- $100 + $20 + $100 – the buy-in is $220, an affordable figure for a PLO tournament and is certain to attract fans of the 4-card game and newbies alike.
- Pot Limit Omaha – most players know this, but in this game, players are dealt 4 down cards and by the end of the hand must make a showdown hand using exactly two hole cards and 3 board cards.
- 50/50 Bounty – Exclusive of the $20 tournament fee, half of the buy-in goes to a traditional prize pool, while the other half is held in $100 bounty chips that each player starts with. A player who is eliminated must cede their own bounty chip to the player that took them out.
- Re-entry – players may enter or re-enter any time until the beginning of play in level 7. So if you are eliminated early, you can just jump back in!
This is certain to be a fun tournament and should attract a good cross-section of players including die-hard PLO players as well as players visiting from Texas Hold’em… Good luck to all!
