It’s a lively group at table 26. As I approached the competitors, one of the the players, Shawn S, told me to stick around. “I’ll give you something to write about during the next hand, I promise.”
Naturally, I stuck around. And once the hole cards were dealt, Stephane Faucher raised to 7,000. Simon Marciano and Shawn both called.
When the flop came down 
, Stephane bet 15,000. Simon mucked his cards, and after some consideration, Shawn called. “I told you I’d give you something to write about,” he looked over his shoulder, and gave me a knowing nod.
On the turn, the dealer revealed a

The river was an 
, and once again both players tapped the felt.
But the outcome that Shawn was hoping I would write about didn’t materialize. When Stephane showed his Ace-Jack, Shawn shook his head, and mucked his cards.
