During the players’ first 15 minute break at the WCC Event #8 Day 1D we counted the chips and discovered that one player has bolted out of the gate like a like a race horse. Antoine Simon’s stack was monstrous. His chip count, tabulated at 401,000, is nearly double his next closest competitor, Gaurav Arora, whose stack measured in at 242,000.
The players have now returned to their seats, and level 5 play has now started. Late registration will continue for another three hours. Thus far, there have been 14 re-entries, and the average stack is 117,500 chips. That means Antoine has nearly four times the average!
