Jamie Sequeira was the first to earn a seat at the final table, at the WCC Event #9, but was also the first competitor to bust once he got there. Unfortunately, he was knocked out of the competition while I was processing the photographs of the 10 finalists.

When Tyler Young temporarily excused himself from the table to stretch his legs, and back, I inquired what had happened to Jamie. He explained that Endrit Geci had bettered Jamie, after Jamie had gone all in.

Tyler, sporting a big grin, then added, “Are you going to pay me a share of your wages for helping you to write your article?”

“Only if you spot me a percentage of your winnings?”

Tyler laughed and agreed that we should both keep our respective bounties.

The very next hand, Tyler was all in. He was called by both Sherif Saad, and Francois Tarrab.

Tyler was holding pocket sevens, 7 of Hearts 7 of Clubs. And Sherif had Ace of Hearts Jack of Clubs, while Francois’ hole cards were Jack of Spades Ace of Diamonds.

The community cards came down 4 of Hearts 10 of Diamonds 8 of Diamonds 2 of Diamonds 3 of Spades.

Tyler pumped his fist, turned around, and looking at me, passionately proclaimed: “Now there’s something you can write about!”
