Day 1N was our first flight to welcome over 300 entries – 312 to be exact, who battled for 8 hours to earn a spot in Sunday’s Day 2. 32 of them made it, led by Graham Lupton who bagged 1,677,000, while a whole bunch of runners will have to wait until tomorrow to put their name on the Day 2 qualifiers list.
This flight was the biggest and the longest, ending at blinds 20K/40K/a40K. Just 3 hands into the hand-for-hand stage, table 56 brought a huge cooler. We missed the exact action, but we know that Nicholas Bélanger was the first to push his chips forward. Behrooz Salemi, on his immediate left, tried to isolate him him by shoving his own stack in the middle – but Gilles Paige was not going to let that happen. He called instantly.
The flop was merciless, coming out ace high, rainbow, and spread out. The 2 underdogs were drawing dead after just 3 cards, and just like that, 31 players started bagging their chips, while Bélanger and Salemi could not believe their bad luck.
Gilles Paige was so allowed to bag a very healthy 1,331,000 stack, while Said Michailidis rounds up the 7-digit stacks with 1,294,000. Don’t miss tomorrow’s last starting flights (12pm, 4pm and 7pm)! Here is the full list of Day 2 qualifiers from Day 1N:
