The largest flight of the Grand Prix Canada has come to a close, and from it emerged the new overall chip-leader of current Day 2 qualifiers. After an excellent last two levels of play, Donald Cowie steamrolled through his opposition and wound up bagging a massive 2,250,000 in chips, well ahead of any other qualified stack so far.
The 468 entry field saw 46 players bag chips after a double-elimination occurred to end the flight. Since 47 players were scheduled to bag chips onto Day 2, the two players eliminated during hand-for-hand shared the minimum cash of $400, while the rest of the survivors bagged and will return tomorrow at 1pm.
One final chance remains for players to participate in this kickoff event to the World Cup of Cards, with Day 1Q of the Grand Prix Canada open for registration until 9:55pm tonight.
The full list of player stacks from Day 1O are listed below, and will shortly be added to the combined end of Day 1 chip counts.
