After outlasting all 583 opponents, Jamie Baker was crowned the champion of the $150 + $25 Strangers in the Night event. Congratulations to him on a very nice night of poker!
It was an extremely rapid Day 3 from the get go, seeing six of the twenty starting players eliminated in mere minutes. It took only two hours to reach the final table of ten players, and that’s when the real poker began.
Although a few players were knocked out in the first hour, things slowed down considerably with six players remaining. After about 90 minutes of play there seemed to be no end in sight, when out of the blue a streak of players were eliminated in rapid succession by Terence, former short stack at the table.
In the heads-up battle between Jamie and Terence the lead moved back and forth for a short time, but ultimately Jamie wore his opponent down, slowly stacking an insurmountable chip lead.
The final hand played out with Terence as the aggressor. When the flop was dealt he led out with a 225,000 bet, called by Jamie. After the came down on the turn, Terence turned up the heat with a 650,000 bet. Again, Jamie called. The on the river led to Terence shoving all in for his remaining chips, but it was a losing effort, as Jamie had flopped a straight with his .
Terence’s two pair were not enough.
Congratulations go out to both players, Jamie for his 1st place win of $14,135, and Terence for his 2nd place finish, grabbing $13,417. Excellent job!
