With only a few minutes to go before the first break, Day 1A of the WPTDeepStacks has brought out 101 entries. There are now over 3 million in chips in play, and lots of time left to (re-)enter. Although many players often prefer to play later starting flights, the fast action and big crowd is making for a flight that you don’t want to miss!

We have just entered the third level of play on Day 1A; the field is growing steadily and the re-entries have begun. This event has gathered two early re-entries, and many more are sure to follow. Players still have over six hours to (re-)join this flight.

Here are some photos from level 2:

We have just started the second level of play on Day 1A, as the players continue to make their way into the tournament hall. We had one elimination during the first level, leaving 67 of 68 entries still in play.

Thanks to the long levels and extended late registration and re-entry period, players will be (re-)joining this flight throughout the afternoon.

Here’s a look at the field so far:

Although only a few minutes have been played on Day 1A, one player has established a significant chip lead over the field.

Ernest Kelly, who has already had a lot of success in this series, was fortunate enough to find a way to double up and send a player to the rail within the first orbit of play. This goes to show that even though the stacks are deep any hand can turn into a monster pot!

We have only scratched the surface of play on Day 1A, with over 20 minutes left in level 1 and seven hours of late registration and re-entries available, things are only going to heat up from here!
