A champion has been declared in the $150 + $15 Deepstack Turbo, Event #2 in the World Cup of Cards.

After more than eight hours of play, including close to 90 minutes of back-and-forth heads up action between Christina Knot and Anh Nguyen, where both players were saved more than once by unlikely cards being dealt on the river, Christina, of Saint Hippolyte Quebec, finally prevailed.

Anh went all in with and Christina wagered everything on . It looked like Anh might reign victorious, but the final hand was won on the final card when the board was dealt .

As runner up, Anh’s share of the prize pool was $3,210!

But the grand prize of $5,166 and a champion’s bragging rights go to Christina, who demonstrated poise and perseverance throughout the event!

Christina, the big stack at the final table, has continued to pick up steam, sending a handful of competitors home in the last 90 minutes. Now that Nick has been eliminated from the competition, the field has been reduced to five players.

The final seven players at the WCC Deepstack Turbo are enjoying a well-deserved 15 minute break. They have been grinding it out for the past six-and-a-half hours and will continue to compete into the wee hours of morning.

As it stands now, Christina Knot is the chip leader. She has amassed a stack of 1,200,000. But Anh Nguyen has cut into her lead, and is now a close second with a chip count of 1,001,000. When play recommences the competitors will be starting level 23.

During her run she just knocked out Daniel Le, who was among the early chip leaders. With the elimination of Le, who finished in 17th place, the remaining 16 players are now in the money. Christina Knot just won a monster pot when she went heads up with Kevin Klun!

Preflop, Kevin limped in with a 12,000 chip bet. Both Patrick Levin, and Christina called. But when the flop came down , Christina wagered 30,000. Kevin called before Patrick mucked his cards.
