The second live starting flight for the Playground1000 is now complete with 91 players moving forward, and 2 more flights remain before qualified players reunite for Day 2 on Monday. Tonight’s final count was of 186 entries (including 19 re-entries), bringing the total tally in this $1,000,000 guaranteed event up to 382 entries (346 live and 36 online).
Armand King ended Day 1B with a staggering 685,100 stack, putting him atop the overall leaderboard with 2 live flights in the books. Alexander Puchalski is in a close second after closing the flight with 626,000 in chips, while Samuel Baylis rounds the top 3 from tonight with 543,900. Michel Lacasse also bagged heavy and will see 505,000 chips waiting for his return on Monday.
Laurence “Lady Luck” Grondin spun up her stack in the last level of play to end with 360,400. She first eliminated an opponent with Pocket-Jacks over Ace-Ten, and then stacked another player with her Pocket-Aces after flatting a 4bet pre-flop and letting her opponent hang himself.
Ryan Riess (323,100) made the most of his 90 minutes on the felts after late-registering into level 8, and much like Mike Leah did yesterday he more than tripled his count on a single bullet.
Full player-reported chip counts from this flight will shortly be added to the list of Playground1000 Day 1 Combined Counts.
Tomorrow should be a busy day with Day 1C starting at 12pm, as many of the satellite winner have booked their seat for this last slow-structure flight. Day 1D is a turbo that kicks off on Monday at 12pm with 20-minute levels, and is set to end in time for Day 2 later that day at 5pm. As a reminder, registration is open throughout the entirety of Day 1, and until the end of level 12 on Day 2.
See you tomorrow!
