Rami Hammoud is our champion

2019/02/07 - 5:39 by Playground Poker

After more than 10 hours of poker, the WCC Event #26 has a champion.

It took more than eight hours to reach the final table, but when it was finally established, Rami Hammoud played dominant poker. He steam-rolled his way to victory, knocking out the final two players that stood between him and victory in three, quick hands.

When Jacob Parent raised all in with a pair of sixes, 6 of Diamonds 6 of Hearts, Rami called with 9 of Hearts 9 of Spades.

The board came down Jack of Clubs 3 of Spades 9 of Diamonds 7 of Hearts 7 of Spades and Jacob’s night was over. As he left the table, he surrendered his bounty chip to Rami, the 15th bounty chip our champion was awarded during the event.

Two hands later, it was Charles-Éric Benoit’s turn to face off against Rami. He pushed his bounty chip forward, risking it all with King of Diamonds 9 of Clubs.

Rami was holding Ace of Diamonds Jack of Diamonds.

When the community cards were dealt, 8 of Clubs 10 of Clubs 8 of Hearts 7 of Spades 7 of Hearts, Charles-Éric was Rami’s 16th bounty of the evening, and the final player Rami needed to eliminate to seize his champion’s prize.

As runner-up, Charles-Éric walked away with $7470.

As champion, Rami’s prize was $11,069 for first place, plus another $1,600 in bounties. Altogether, his take was a whopping $12,669 and the victor’s trophy.

Congratulations Rami for a dominant performance!

One hand after Ralph Pierre was knocked out of the competition, Michael Pitcher was beat by Jacob Parent’s pocket jacks.

Michael went all in with Ace of Hearts 10 of Clubs. Jacob hesitated, and attributed the delay to the potential payout that he said is a mountain of money for a young 20-year old like himself. But in the end, he finally called, revealing Jack of Spades Jack of Hearts.

When the flop came down Queen of Hearts 3 of Spades 8 of Hearts 4 of Spades 6 of Hearts, Jacob, who was standing, sighed before he returned to his seat.

That leaves us with four players still in the hunt

Jacob Parent thought long and hard before he called Line Desjardins. Line had pushed all of her remaining 400,000 chips into the pot. But despite having a stack that was well over a million chips, Jacob debated.

When he finally called, he turned over King of Clubs 3 of Spades. Line showed Ace of Clubs 6 of Clubs.

But when the community cards came down, it was clear Jacob made the right decision. The dealer turned 7 of Diamonds 10 of Clubs King of Spades 4 of Diamonds 3 of Hearts.

Line congratulated Jacob, and Jacob scooped up his winnings.

With Line’s night coming to an end, the field was reduced to 15 players. A few moments later, Frederic Normand busted, leaving 14.

The players have just returned from their third 15-minute break of the evening. During the pause in the action, we counted the chips and noted that Rami Hammoud is our chip leader. He clocks in with 624,000 chips. He is trailed by Jacob Parent, who has remained in second place since the last break. Jacob’s stack measured 605,000 chips.

The average stack is currently 231,250 chips. That means that both Rami, and Jacob have accumulated more than double the stack average!

Just a few hands after the players returned from their break, Jahkheem Polydore busted from the tournament.

That means the remaining 29 competitors are all in the money.

Congratulations to all!
