The heads up battle had been epic, and stacks were roughly even for a long stretch of time – but eventually, and slowly, Samuel began to expand – and maintain – his lead. When blinds reached 4M/8M in level 53, however, a 100M stack was no longer much to rely on.
Breyer Calvert – who had played an amazing tournament all day today – started to feel the blinds pressure and shoved 4 out of 6 hands in a row – seemingly willing to bring the matter to a conclusion.
Samuel, for his part, was patient and didn’t rise to the provocation… until the final hand of the night. Samuel was on the button and just limped, and Breyer went all in. Samuel made the call.
